About Us

The Past
The Southampton Guild of Roleplayers was founded in 2017 by Peter Coffey and Angus Abranson, they found and rented a room in the Millennium Third Age Centre in Southampton. Carefully chosen for its good lighting, step-free access and plentiful table space, the Third Age Centre was a hub for social activity in Southampton.
The aims of the club were established as being to promote roleplaying throughout Southampton and Hampshire. Secondary aims included promoting experiments in roleplaying games and helping social networks form.

Following the lockdowns of 2020-2021 the club closed its doors until May 2023 when it reopened at the Art House. Sadly with the decision of the Art House to permanently close it’s doors in March 2024 the club needed a new venue.

The Present
The Club is currently running at Dice and Dumplings, another venue with great accessibility.

The Future
As the club starts its 7th year, plans are afoot:
– Re-elect a committee to give the club more democratic accountability.
– Plan for a membership drive are underway
– Plan a Roleplaying game convention in Southampton (Southamp-Con) for 2025.

All in all, the future looks interesting! If you would like to join in, then please come down and let us know!
